Techniques For Perfect Light Painting Photograph

*A few things to remember when light painting :
-unless capturing lens flares  are your intention, avoid shining the light source directly into the lens
-avoid shining the light source in oe spot for to long this will cause the light to came up as hot , photo-speak for too bright
* Light painting techniques :
the space in front of your camera's lens is your canva once the shutter is open
wear a dark clothing when you go in front of your camera so that only your light source appears
try writing a letters but keep in mind that what you write appears backwards in your photo you can always fix this by flipping your photo in post production or try painting letters backwards
paint a mor camplicated artistic scene using the light source try drawing a figure or flower or even a landscape, use an object or a human subject to trace or paint on can be super creative ( known as light graffiti )
if your subject or object move even slightly they will appear blurry
 in the the photograph and if they stays perfectly still they will remain in focus get behind them and paint at will for some inspiration you can head to pinterest and instagram
make tripple  quardruple exposures of yourself in the same photo , go to one section of your frame and use your light source to highlight yourself then turn it on then turn it off
when finally you shutter closes your photo will include severel versions of you various parts of the frame you can try this with a friend

*Tips for light paiting indoors:
use a mirror or reflective surface as a prop for your light painting photo
alternatively try using a light source that you can hover above a mirror , tilting your camera to catch the reflection and the original , tie a light source to a string and dangle it , or try projecting light off of a reflective three -dimentional object for a final psychedelic image
*Tips for light painting outdoors :
try photographing light trails of cars at night you'll use the same principles of low ISO , long shutter speed , and high aperture as described above for photographing light trails , A tripod is definitely required for this technique
when you've mastered photographing light trails of cars , try your hand at photographing star trails ,you will be using bullb mode for this special night photography keeping the shutter open for several minutes at a time
